Meaning of “Qi,” “Men,” and “Dunjia”
- Qi (奇 / Extraordinary): Refers to the “Three Wonders” (Yi, Bing, Ding), representing dynamic cosmic energies.
- Men (门 / Gates): Refers to the Eight Gates—Rest, Life, Harm, Obstruction, Illusion, Death, Fear, and Opening—which reflect different states of events.
- Dunjia (遁甲 / Hidden Stems): Refers to the Six Jia Heavenly Stems, concealed in calculations to predict timing and alignment.
Together, the Three Wonders, Eight Gates, Nine Stars, and Eight Spirits form the unique divination system of Qimen Dunjia.
